wren

is a childhood name

(and bird species)

atelier

wa

means peace and harmony in japanese

jennifer grew up on the island of newfoundland, a beautiful, rugged land off the north east coast of canada - as a child she loved to draw and work with her hands - she spent hours with her grandfather in his wood studio

her desire to become an architect came early but was not realized until she had taken a few more trips around the sun

following degrees in french and fine arts, jennifer flew to japan...where she stayed for four years - those years taught her much about craftsmanship, simple elegance, and a kind of quiet beauty that spoke to her soul

traveling around japan and indonesia she collected and admired many beautiful textiles, pottery, and woodwork - the concepts ‘wabi-sabi’ and ‘ma’ became part of her everyday experience and inspiration

returning from japan, jennifer studied and began practicing architecture, becoming licensed in texas in 2013

having always dreamed of creating a space to celebrate and showcase beautiful objects, wren atelier manifests a lifetime of experiences and inspiration

wa is the creation of an intimate space where craft and people come together to learn, share, to perhaps forge new alliances and direction in their lives….

we look forward to welcoming you!
