an ‘ulu’ is a traditional ‘woman’s knife’ used by women from several indigenous cultures of northern canada. the actual knife spans all four fingers and has a post that fits between the fingers connecting blade with handle. this two finger ring is inspired by an ulu i was given years ago from friends who traveled up north regularly to teach graphic design. it is made from reclaimed sterling silver and ebony foraged from an instrument repair shop in north eastern canada. the wooden handle is held in your palm while the silver moon shape sits on top of your fingers. sizing for this piece varies and needs to be made for each individual. please contact me directly to have one made for you or a friend.
